23rd Lancashire Fusillers

Hi,

I am attempting to locate the war diaries via Ancestry for the various relatives I have identified, but am struggling with this battalion.

It started life as 23rd Garrison Btn, Lancashire Fusiliers in June 1918- when my Uncle joined form the labour corp- a comb out I presume,  and was then allocated to the 40th Division and dropped the Garrison title.  However, when I search Ancestry for the 23rd Btn nothing comes up, if I use the regimental title I get a selection of divisions Lancashire Fusiliers served in, but the 40th is not one of them.  I then went for the brigades of the 40th Division and I got the relevant War Diary for the 120th Brigade, but still no joy on the 23rd btn.  Anybody got any advice how to locate this War Diary on Ancestry, not particularity impressed by the search options available!

Thanks

Martyn James
