JAC marked HQ's are not that common - never seen one in the flesh myself: but hopefully someone can say more. Looks better, though, than the other HQ recently discussed, my only quibble here being the - to me odd-looking screw head.

 

Markings for 4th Royal Fusiliers, I think.

Thanks for your thoughts Trajan, following your observations of the screw head ( I presume the ring ) I checked all my P 1907 s and found similar rings on some when viewed under the magnifying glass.

would agree with 4th Royal Fusiliers.
