There is an excellent review of the GW artist WIlliam Orpen in today's Guardian. Orpen was the official war artist from 1916 onwards. There are 138 paintings and drawings in the Imperial War Museum exhibition which runs from January 27 - May 2.

I went last week. A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to his war paintings, so for that reason alone, it's worth going.
