Mrs. Maldon and I have just returned from our latest trip to Ypres. It was fantastic as usual and this is how it went:

Friday 12/10/18

Arrived in France at 9.19am.

Drove to Hooge - paid our respects to Wilf Burgess at IX.A.6 (we have his BWM).

Had lunch at Hooge and looked around the museum.

Drove on to Ypres and booked in to the Ariane.

Walked to Ypres Reservoir to pay our respects to Albert Upton at 1.G.49 (again we have a medal).

Went to the Menin Gate for the Last Post and to pay our respects to Maurice Abrahams on panel 3 (on behalf of a relative in Norfolk).

Had an evening meal in In 'T Klein Stadhuis.

Saturday 13/10/18

After breakfast drove to Langemark.

Parked at Cement House Cemetery and did a 6.3 mile Paul Read walk.

Had lunch at Resto De Koombloem, Langemark.

Back to Ypres.

Last Post.

Meal at In 'T Klein Stadhuis.

Sunday 14/10/18

After breakfast drove to Voormezeele No. 1&2 Enclosures to pay our respects to Horton Edwards at 1.K.23 (more medals).

On to St. Sixtus to drink beer.

Returned via Canada Farm and Ferme-Olivier to pay our respects to Harold Willans at 1.G.2 (medals).

Back to Ypres.

Last Post.

Meal at Den Anker.

Monday 15/10/18

Travelled home.

Will post some pictures.

Best regards.

Stephen (Maldon).
