Remembered Today:

Month By Month Casualty Figures (Killed)

Dear all,

I hope someone may be able to help me. Our School (Wellington School, Somerset)  is wanting to do something visual to represent the number of men killed in the war. We are trying to get month by month figures of the dead for the duration of the war so our pupils can get some sense of both the huge numbers involved and how certain months were heavier than others. We have tried looking online and although we can find casualty figures at the end of the war, the month by month is eluding us. I wondered if anyone may be able to help point us in the right direction.

Thank you.

Kate

On the CWGC website you can search for deaths that occurred between any two dates. Do this for every month of the War and you have what you are looking for.

Hi Kate

This link should give you what your after, and the hard work has been done, down to regiment levels.

As its title suggests, it is calculated on a day to day so the running monthly totals are only up to the end of September 1918.
