Lucky!  There are service papers for him on Findmypast and Ancestry.  Served from Jan 1914 to Apr 1917, discharged unfit.  In France 5 8 14 to 12 6 15.  Served in the Royal Defence Corps after service in France.  Mention was published in the London Gazette 31 Dec 1915 among a list of 5200 plus MIDs.  If you don't have a sub you may be able to get access at a library or get a short term sub?
