Coldstreamer Posted 26 September , 2018 Share Posted 26 September , 2018 Hello, Any 1st life guards expert on the forum? I believe George was headhunted from the 1LG band into the Coldstream band . Or was he time expired and reenlisted? On fmp there seems to be some files for 1LG WO/400 , can anyone confirm or provide any other details. From his dob of 1887 and subsequent lsgc I think he enlisted in 1901 as a boy soldier. His Coldstream number suggests a 1913 enlistment and he served with them throughout ww1 and at least into the 1920s playing the cornet. MaxD Posted 26 September , 2018 Share Posted 26 September , 2018 969 George Morgan 1 LG in WO 400/36/369 - £3.50 to find out! Max
Coldstreamer Posted 26 September , 2018 Author Share Posted 26 September , 2018 I think that number is too low for his enlistment - it might be on FMP as Im not spending £3.50 on something I reasonably expect to be the wrong person
MaxD Posted 26 September , 2018 Share Posted 26 September , 2018 He is the only 1 LG George Morgan who comes up in WO 400 (which you sked for more info about). His record is on FMP (the only George Morgan Life Guards) and yes, served 1881-1891. Max
