Clear Bell Posted 21 September , 2018 Share Posted 21 September , 2018 Hi Please could someone confirm whether the 22nds or 13ths known as "The Kensingtons'? Or were the 22nds just known as the 22nds. And is there any book about them that any GWF contributor can recommend? Thanks
Gareth Davies Posted 21 September , 2018 Share Posted 21 September , 2018 (edited) Both the 22nd (Service) Battalion (Kensington) Royal Fusiliers, and the 13th (County of London) Battalion (Kensington) London Regiment, had Kensington in their title but I am pretty sure that when people refer to the Kensingtons they mean the 13th Bn London Regiment. Both have a Regimental History: https://www.naval-military-press.com/product/history-of-the-22nd-service-battalion-royal-fusiliers-kensington/ https://www.naval-military-press.com/product/the-kensingtons-13th-london-regiment/ Edited 21 September , 2018 by Gareth Davies
Clear Bell Posted 21 September , 2018 Author Share Posted 21 September , 2018 Hi Thanks. I am going to buy the Inglis book too. Been revisiting the biography of someone I first researched some years ago and could find very little out about him (or all things military). Now I know a bit more about him. That's a start.
