Remembered Today:

Poppy Posies

Does anyone know if one can buy a Poppy Posy in Ypres? I know you used to be able to buy poppy wreaths and posies from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission office in Ypres, but believe that has now closed. There is a new place near the Menin Gate, but they don't sell them as I checked last year.

Other than that, I suppose i have to purchase a posy from the Royal British Legion?

Thanks,

Sue.

There is an RBL shop in the Grote Market as well as the office in the Meninstrasse.

Not ignorant at all MM; just think how non-existent my Flemish is. Posy or posie is a small bunch of flowers, a small bouquet if you like. It is a word that dates from the 1570's in English.
