The fourth and last of Liverpool Cathedral's exhibitions relating to WW1 centres on the work of Edward Carter Preston, medallist and sculptor, who is best known on this forum for his design of the Memorial Plaque and other medals, but on a wider front was involved with a great deal of the sculpture in and around the cathedral.  The exhibition is supported by Liverpool Hope University and the IWM amd occupies the War Memorial Transept.

A sculpture Trail will be operating daily from 17th to 21st, 24th to 28th September and from 1st October to 5th from 11.00 to 12.00.  Two illustrated booklets about the man and his work are available from the welcome desk at the cathedal.

In addition the cathedral is holding an 'Evening of Conversation' in the Lady Chapel.on 17th September at 6.30 p.m. when Alex Walton of IWM will speak on 'Standing on hot ground: women artists of the First World War'.  Admission free.
