Remembered Today:

Richtofen Location

A chum is asking the following question:

"I'm looking for help/opinion if possible! I'm currently researching for a book, and I'm trying to pin down a location quoted by Von Richthofen in one of his combat reports. He says 'Hill 123, north of Neuville St Vaast, 1km over the British lines'. As far as I can make out, this puts it about where the Czech and Polish cemeteries are on the Souchez - Neuville road. I have seen a reference that quotes a British map reference of A.15.d, but this is south of Neuville and too far over British lines. Thoughts gratefully received!"

Any thoughts from the forum?

I don't know about a hill...... but there is a trench in that area marked "New Boyau 123"
