Remembered Today:

Rest Camp No.1 location

Hello,

I read an article in the forum from several years ago regarding the location of the rest camps near Le Havre. I'm not sure if the thread is still live, so thought I'd start a new post - hope that's ok!

I am trying to find the location (as close as poss) of Rest Camp No.1 one as a relative stopped there in August 1914. He was with the 1st Glosters who reached Le Havre aboard the "Gloucester Castle" on 13th August 1914. (I've put a post up with a query about the ship as well). We're going out to trace his steps in a few months and it would be great to start the journey where he did.

Many thanks for any help.

Tracy

Take your pick!

Rest Camp 4 at Le Havre - Battlefield touring

Interesting - well, not really - how the original topics were started in five different sub-forums!

Thanks Moonraker!

There is an amazingly detailed map on one of the threads showing 6, 7 and 8. Does anyone know where I can get a similar thing for Rest Camp 1?

Thanks, Tracy
