Hi all,

Just went live with a website www.kingscolonials.com to showcase the uniforms and badges of these iconic Regiments.  I would be pleased to add additional information and photographs etc with full acknowledgement.  Trust members find it of interest, cheers Dean.

Dean,

Thanks for this additional information.

What is the writing below K.E.H. on the reverse of the card? It doesn't make sense.

Colleagues...

Just spotted this - my best guess is he has written Patient: Curragh Barracks the regiment were stationed there (reserve sqn).

Like the photo of Wallis too (I'm www.kingedwardshorse.net )

& yes kingscolonials is a good site - I had a prettygood idea but its enabled me to iron out the wrinkles / mysteries of the KEH uniform (complex) and what badges I've collected over almost 40 years are duds ( many sadly - but I basically picked up what I could to put with my collection).

Also image of plaque I have laying about.

Kindest Regards

PN

I came across a Martin Dayton Smith (13 Aug 1892 - 09 July 1980) who served with the KEH, and later served with the Lancashire Fusiliers, and the Machine Gun Corps (Heavy Branch). He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and appears to have enlisted in Ireland on or around 8 April 1915. He deserted the British Army on 14 September 1917, and duly enlisted in the US Army, deploying to France on 22 April 1918.

Thanks PN good pick up on Patient written on the back of the postcard.  Appreciate feedback on the site.  Still adding material regarding their badges and uniforms.

I shall all have a look at my notes for Smith and Broadwood, regards Dean
