Remembered Today:

Testament of youth movie.

I recently watched this wonderful movie, and have been racking my brains and trying to research something I noticed during the scenes on the Western Front. As Vera's brother Edward, is released from the field hospital after recovering from his wounds, I noticed on the back of his uniform jacket, there appeared to be a German Cross. It was also seen on several other soldiers about to be trucked out. Was I wrong? As a WW2 enthusiast and small time collector, I do know what the cross looks like. Just couldn't figure out why it would be there. Hope someone can put me out of my misery, and tell me if I was seeing things or not.

Don't know the answer, but you aren't seeing things! Good spot.

I think it is a Divisional sign but I can't match it to an actual division - maybe made up for the film?

I couldn't even see the cross on my old computer.

I've taken the liberty of tinkering with it :

It looks like the badge of some of the light infantry ie the green jackets , ?

Probably get a better answer if you put the question on the uniform thread
