TeeJF Posted 23 August , 2018 Share Posted 23 August , 2018 Hi everyone, I am currently researching one of my relations (an Old Contemptible in the 1st Gloucester Regt) and his medal index card shows "clasp 2/2699". Does this relate to the clasp for the 14 Star? Any info would be gratefully received, thank you.

Loader Posted 24 August , 2018 Share Posted 24 August , 2018 Yes almost certainly refers to the under fire clasp. Some say clasps & roses. If it had said EMBLEM then it would refer to a MID leaf for the Victory Medal. He would have ahd to apply for the clasp which obviously he did & ti was approved & issued for wear on his 1914 Star.
