Eugene Alluaud's 1914 illustrations Soldiers from India

Not sure which heading this should be posted under?

 

This French artist's name doesn't come up on a forum search so I wonder if others have come across some excellent illustrations done by him. I happened to see some yesterday in a local French WW1 exhibition.

 

Alluaud was at Limoges railway station in 1914 when the Indian troops came through and he did a number of sketches, some of which were published and sold in aid of PoW funds.

 

I thought just to provide a sample here without infringing copyright. If you google the artist's name and the year 1914 you should find more. Wiki gives his biography.

And I rather liked this unpublished sketch of Indian troops exercising their horses, again at Limoges Oct 1914.

Presumably Sikh, with their hair in a top knot but no turban ?
