Simon_Fielding Posted 22 August , 2018 Share Posted 22 August , 2018 Nice little shot usefully named and dated - from a well-known auction site...
john-g Posted 3 September , 2018 Share Posted 3 September , 2018 Quote Hi, a look at Air Britain's Flying Training and Support Units since 1912, author Ray Sturtivant, with John Hamlin, page 117, notes, formed as 530(SD) Flight, Formed Bangor 15/08/18 in 77 Wing at Bangor, within 244 Sqn, was known as "C" flight. 18/10/18 to Tallaght, 11/12/18 Bangor, Sqn ceased to exist when Sqn disbanded on 05/03/19. Only one machine quoted, DH 6 (B2960).
Airshipped Posted 9 November , 2018 Share Posted 9 November , 2018 Nice find, well-proportioned photo. Lt L.S. McCullogh was ex-108 Squadron, ended up with 11 (Irish) Group. Lt Harry Hales was an ex-RNVR who joined the RAF via the RNAS route, albeit Greenwich. At the time 25 TDS Tallaght was part of 55 Wing. Hales was from Lincolnshire. The National Library of Scotland carry digitised versions of the early Air Force Lists. In that regard you can track some of the movements from 11 (Irish) Group, through to its reduction to 11 (Irish) Wing.
