Wienand Drenth Posted 12 January , 2005 Share Posted 12 January , 2005 Dear all, For those of you who are interested in the Territorial Force, the following two issues of the London Gazette may be of interest: March 20, 1908, and April 10, 1908. In both you will find listings of the units in the Volunteer Force, with next to it its Territorial Force successor unit(s) and County Association. How to find these? I hope that this link will work. The issue of October 14, 1910 might also be of interest as it gives the corrections to the beforementioned schedules. I hope you will find this usefull. Regards, Wienand
Guest Pete Wood Posted 12 January , 2005 Share Posted 12 January , 2005 Hi Wienand I'm sure your link will work - it's just that the London Gazette site is down at present. You might be interested to know that there is a Territorial Force Study Group (with many forum members) which meets twice a year. Wienand Drenth Posted 12 January , 2005 Author Share Posted 12 January , 2005 Hello Pete, It might have been me who made the site go down It seems to be up now. I have heard about the TF Study Group, and I am of course interested in learning more. Will it be possible for me to participate from the Netherlands one way or another? Regards, Wienand
Guest Pete Wood Posted 12 January , 2005 Share Posted 12 January , 2005 Of course you can participate. Location is not important (though you miss out on some lovely cakes and sandwiches etc). There is a contact address in the link I provided which will put you in touch with Charles Fair and Jock Bruce. If you have a really keen interest, and could add some written copy, you might also like to make contact with Charles Messenger who has a book project on the boiler.
