Worcester Regt 5th Bn

Can someone please help with my interpretation of the service records of 31240 Roland John Fish, Worcester Regiment, which are on Ancestry.   He attested 10 Dec 1915 and was posted to 5 battalion on 24 June 1916.   His military history sheet states he received G.S.W. on about 21 May 1917 and wounded on 14 October 1918.  There is something written between the two entries on 18 April 1918 but I don’t understand what happened that day.  A check on longlongtrail reveal the 5th were at Plymouth and went on in autumn 1917 to Harwich for duty with the Harwich Garrison.

What I would like to know if his wounds were from training or action?

His MIC at TNA is under Rowland J Fish, Corporal so he made it overseas as entitled to BWM and VM also available on Ancestry.

Sorry can't help re records of wounding.

Perhaps transferred to another battalion?

Post an image of the bit concerned?

The 5th Battalion was a Special Reserve Battalion so would not have gone overseas: your chap would have been serving with another battalion.
