Gareth Davies Posted 14 August , 2018 Share Posted 14 August , 2018 Does this MIC say, bottom left, what I think it says?

Gareth Davies Posted 14 August , 2018 Author Share Posted 14 August , 2018 Which is not what I saw. Thank you. What does it mean?
Gareth Davies Posted 14 August , 2018 Author Share Posted 14 August , 2018 I don't want to say what I see for fear of leading the witness.
Pat Atkins Posted 14 August , 2018 Share Posted 14 August , 2018 Isn't it SWB - Silver War Badge? Listed under Tank Regt I guess?

Pat Atkins Posted 14 August , 2018 Share Posted 14 August , 2018 Only trouble is, I can't find his SWB record (only had a cursory shufti on Ancestry, mind)
Pat Atkins Posted 14 August , 2018 Share Posted 14 August , 2018 (edited) However, for comparison, here's the MIC of another Francis Fletcher (who does have a SWB record I could find) which I think clinches it: Edited 14 August , 2018 by Pat Atkins
Gareth Davies Posted 14 August , 2018 Author Share Posted 14 August , 2018 Thanks Pat. SWB trumps SLOB.
Pat Atkins Posted 14 August , 2018 Share Posted 14 August , 2018 Although I quite like SLOB... I bet there's something called SLOB (Surrey Light Ordnance Brigade; Safton's Lancers Of Bengal; Steak: Lean, Old, for Boiling; etc.)

clk Posted 15 August , 2018 Share Posted 15 August , 2018 Hi, For some reason on Ancestry the Tank Corps SWB roll skips from sheet "Tanks/43" to "Tanks/48". There are some other sheets that are also missing. The yield on FMP also doesn't provide any matches, so my assumption would be that the roll itself is deficient, rather than Ancestry being at fault.
