Remembered Today:

Base Depot Mustapha - What unit?

Blue Dragoon

Recommended Posts

Attached is an extract of the service record of 87604 Pte Alfred John Lloyd RAMC.

26/6/17 - N Coy RAMC Middle East XX Corps Reinforcements - Embarked Military Transport Ship ‘Monas Queen’

25/6/17 – Disembarked Le Havre

29/6/17 - Embarked Marseilles Military Transport Ship ‘Huntsgreen’

9/7/17- Disembarked Alexandria

I'm having some difficulty identifying the unit within the Base Depot at Mustapha he was then attached to.  Looks like '1 .A. li.C'  ???  Any help decoding this abbreviation greatly appreciated!

I'm also having some difficulty finding any references to 'N Coy' RAMC.  Any help here also appreciated.

I note that on 14/2/18 after what appears to be some 'conversion' training at the Imperial School of Instruction Zietoun (suburb of Cairo) he was compulsorily transferred (31907) to 10th (Shropshire & Cheshire Yeomanry) Battalion, KSLI - 231st Brigade of the 74th "Broken Spur" Division.

It's RAMC Base Depot, Mustapha - the typewriter ribbon was worn!

N Company RAMC would also be a depot company, I think.
