onesearch Posted 5 July , 2018 Share Posted 5 July , 2018 It's been a while since I've posted, or been on the forum & am just getting used to the change of look but at the moment I can't find the answer so can I please ask about the following. What was the formation for an infantry attack (1915)? My grandfather was at Loos in 1915 & was in the first wave of companies. So, how would the company have advanced by platoon, section, how would the sections move, line column or en bloc, & what sort of spacing would there be? I understand that there is probably a 'by the book' description or standing order which may well have gone out the window once the action commenced but I'd be interested to hear what the regs were. Many thanks, Rod
