If, say, a man enlisted in the first few weeks of April 1918 would he have been issued with old RFC titles, new RAF ones or left without any until the RAF ones could be obtained ? Stuart24 Posted 5 July , 2018 Share Posted 5 July , 2018 Hello Steve, Only anecdotal evidence, I'm afraid but: My great-grandfather joined the RAF in May 1918, and all of the photos we have of him show him with RFC shoulder titles and insignia.
