Alan24 Posted 30 June , 2018 Share Posted 30 June , 2018 I have the TFEM awarded to a man who enlisted May 1911 and was disembodied July 1919. That gives him 8 years service. I read somewhere that war years count as double which would give him the 12 years needed for the award. His medal card for the TFEM is dated Aug 21, some two years after his disembodiment. This makes me think that he didn't automatically qualify in May 1919 possibly because the ACI giving the extra 4 years had not been issued at that point. Can anyone tell me when the decree was issued and that it was 4 years and not measured in days e.g. could a soldier get an extra 4 years 89 days added to his service or was it only exactly 4 years?
