Albert - Combined Sheet 57D SE, 57C SW, 62D NE, 62C NW First Edition

I was given a copy of the above today. I assume that it was a map produced shortly after the British arrived on the Somme. The copy I have has been annotated in blue in various places and has the owners name inscribed in pencil on the from. Unfortunately it is very faded and I haven't yet been able to read it.

Any information gratefully received. When it was produced and to whom it was issued would be a good starting point.

Keith, a nice item even if faded.  McMaster has one on its site from 1916:  Database id #032, map title "Montauban".  Parts of Sheets 57d SE 57c SW 62d NE 62c NW 1916 Scale 20,000.

With a bit of luck you can read the date at the bottom right corner.  Their example says "TRENCHES CORRECTED TO   2 - 6- 16"
