Fetherstonehaugh Auxiliary Hospital, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Evenin' all,

I have been asked to do a library talk about Rathfarnham Parish, Dublin and the Great War. Apart from the obvious coverage of Columba's College, which suffered greatly during the conflict, there is also the Fetherstonehaugh (pronounced Fanshaw - Thanks Steven B!) Auxiliary Hospital which as far as I can make out became a Divinity Hostel for the Church of Ireland in the 1960s and was renamed Braemor Park.

Does anyone have info on sources to consult about this hospital?

Thanks,

Dave

The Hospital gets only one mention in the interesting document linked below, showing that it open in 1914 and closed in 1919 serving a total of 461 patients.

Yes it became  the Church of Ireland College in the 1960s it had formerly been a Nursing Home for the Adelaide Hospital.

Cheers Dave,

I saw the Anglican.org page but not the Maynooth one.

Thanks for the reply
