Hi!

I spent ages looking up Bankompagnie, and, of course, failed miserably.

Festungs Eisenbahn-Baukompagnie Nr. 12, I would translate as Fortress Railway Building Company No. 12.

I finally found the time to write a card.

I'm doing fine, hope you're fine too.

I was in [Saarbrücken?] the other day, pity we couldn't meet up.

But it still was a nice trip.

Auf Wiedersehen

Your faithful friend

Bernhard  [Knörr]

Is what I make of it.

Saarbrücken is the only word I could decipher from the address. I was there a few years ago. Beautiful place.

Hi the first part of the text on the card is missing in the translation and part of it I would dispute.

This is how it starts:

Lieber Wilhelm!

Dear Wilhelm!

Erst heute hat der Photo-

The photographer

graph die Karte zum

delivered the card

Schreiben geliefert. Mir

to write to you only today.

geht es soweit noch gut

I am still well

hoffentlich ist das gleiche

auch bei Dir der Fall.

and hope the same of you

Neulich war ich in S[aa]r[brücken].....

I recently visited Sarrbrücken...

From  here on see above translation by JWK. However

"I finally found the time to write a card." is not really what he wrote.
