Folio Society produces handsome volumes

And they know how to charge ridiculously high prices for them.

Folio Society is a commercial company despite the name. Same with the Medici Society.which did some of the Great War regimentals. Despite the name. strictly commercial

You shouldn't discourage sJ.

It's always a surprise to me when she buys her own books, considering how many she pops into her handbag at work.

As a bookseller, I must observe that most librarians come to loathe books- It's the eat too many on a PYO Strawberry Farm principle. Thankfully, Jane is exceptional

My dear departed Mother used to use that word as a substitute for a more vulgar, (as in common), one.  She insisted that way she wasn't "swearing".  We all knew what she meant and to keep out for sight for a while.  One of her few vices.

Ours was also 10 years on April 13.  She's where I got my love of books from.  Self and sibs were all "reading" by age five.  Knowledge is Power (scientia potestas est).
