  Hello Gents. Steve here, a trucker/Lorry Driver, driving right now, but ran across a short mention ...

  British Messenger dog, in gas mask dodged a hail of German bullets to deliver a message of hope to French forces in battle of Verdun, the black cross breed is named Satan

Some of you may want to look up the story. Take care guys

I glad they clarified it's the messenger dog wearing the gas mask :thumbsup:.

 

Interesting the French soldier has his beret flap over his left ear.

As was (and still is) the standard way of wear for alpine infantry and chasseurs alpin.

Thanks Dave - I should have guessed this would be down to some Rifles/Chasseurs/Jäger peculiarity!  :lol:
