Hyacinth1326 Posted 23 May , 2018 Share Posted 23 May , 2018 (edited) Hello Can anyone tell me whether an enquiry report has survived concerning the 6.8.14 encounter. A preliminary search at Kew suggests that it has not. Someone on this site is bound to know. I would be interested in any report or log which might shed detailed light on this affair but I was hoping to go beyond the logs of the escorting destroyers to Amphion herself Kind regards Hyacinth Edited 23 May , 2018 by Hyacinth1326

Falloden Posted 27 May , 2018 Share Posted 27 May , 2018 Very interesting, particularly as I have recently found a family connection to Walter Edgcombe, stoker second class, who died in the mining of Amphion. His daughter Ruby Edith Lydia Edgcombe, 2 years old at the time of the sinking, married my distant cousin, George Laidler Snowball.
Jonathan G Posted 13 December , 2020 Share Posted 13 December , 2020 Has anyone obtained a copy of the report? I would be interested to know if it lists the German crew members captured from the ship laying the mines.
