Remembered Today:

78th Canadian Infantry

I am finding it difficult to find the War Diaries of 78th Canadian  Infantry formed on 10.7.1915.  There is a soldier who died on 10.8.1918 but had received an MM on 24.4.1917 in the field.

Private William G Clarke No148605. I have found him on CWGC & his Attestation Papers.

I wonder if a member of the forum has a copy of, or access to, the War Diaries of his regiment 78th Battalion Canadian Infantry and could kindly put online the activities of this battalion on 24.4.1917 and 10.8.1918. so that I might see the circumstances of his MM and death.

Are the citations online for Canadian MM's ( I know that it was deliberate British policy not to publish them for UK soldiers) ?

Thank you

.......and his service file is to be found here.  Might be something on his MM in the service file.
