Marigold1 Posted 20 May , 2018 Share Posted 20 May , 2018 Can anyone tell me where I might find information on the 240th Employment Coy of the Labour Corps between 3rd November 1917 and 6th July 1918? I have a soldier Tom Drury (Pte 474167) who served as a cook with the 240th Coy over this period. He was killed in July 1918 and buried at Pernes British Cemetery. Any help gratefully received. Ron Clifton Posted 20 May , 2018 Share Posted 20 May , 2018 Hello Marigold It was part of 46 (North Midland) Division, but does not appear to have a surviving War Diary. You might find something in one of these: WO 95/2665 Headquarters Branches and Services: General Staff 1917 Nov. - 1918 Aug. WO 95/2666 Adjutant and Quarter-Master General 1915 Feb. - 1919 July In the latter case, there are several diaries in the same box, so you might have to add something like /2 after the file reference. It should also be on Ancestry, but there you will have to omit the WO95/. Ron
Marigold1 Posted 20 May , 2018 Author Share Posted 20 May , 2018 Dear Ron, Thank you very much once again. What would I do without your great expertise? I'm really grateful. Marigold
