Arthur Boyes, postcards of Jesus sent home

An unusual series of postcards seen at Richmond upon Thames museum today:

altogether, they make up a portrait of Jesus, and episodes from his life.

 

They were sent from France by Arthur Boyes to his son.

Never seen anything like that before - shows that the Post Office then were efficient enough NOT to lose one!

Nice display - shame about the "Army Service Corps Royal Engineers" mention though.

Yes, I wondered about that...

 

My late father-in-law was in the ASC as a driver, and his work seemed to be very involved with the Royal Engineers (he even had in his house a sort of RE shield mounted on a board).

I thought Boyse might have been a similar situation, and somebody had misguidedly stuck the two together.
