ForeignGong Posted 19 May , 2018 Share Posted 19 May , 2018 Hi Welcome to the forum. If you are looking for an actual Croix de Guerre (CdG), there are genuine ones available through dealers and on the web. Do you know when he was gazetted for his CdG, as they come with dates on the reverse, i.e. 1914, 1914-15, 1914-1916, 1914-1917 and most common 1914-1918. Give us his details if you need help to find the London Gazette. Peter

Peter +1 on availability of originals - they are not named so an original medal is reasonably easy to obtain. RE: London Gazette: This would be on the assumption that he was British - correct? If he was (for example) an American member of the AEF awarded the CdG then his award would not appear in the London Gazette I assume.
