I think the expletives were toned down to "Holy Heck"??????by the press, any one able to ID the shell?/

Well, I would think the last two letters might be correct!

Anyhow, very interesting, considering it happened about 4 km from where I live, and the fact I found out about it here (don't read the local news very often)!

Probably dug up on an old artillery range.  The driving band appears to have been removed, presumably for scrap.  Remotely possible someone dragged such a thing back from France, but it would have to be in the days of travel by ship.

The fuze looks German to me, a GRZ 14? it does not look British WW1 at least unless its some kind of transit plug.
