I am trying to find out a little bit more about this chap:

NEWMAN, Sergeant, Herbert James. 205642, Depot, Tank Corps formerly 2104, Machine Gun Corps. Born Mere, Wilts. Enlisted Coventry.  Died, Home, 18th May, 1918.

Did he serve in a Tank Coy/Bn in France/Flanders?

The effects register shows he was paid £16 net war gratuity (£19 gross). This was paid for 34 months qualifying service, indicating enlistment in the month from 19 July 1915.
