The Irish Film institute have uploaded plenty of good quality footage of Ireland from early 1900s.

This image shows two VC winners in County Longford at the unveiling of a war memorial in 1925.

But, do they have WW1 medals???

The chap laying the floral wreath definitely has VC and trio showing.

Great footage.

In the footage both men are in early to mid forties but they look considerably older. It was just 7 years after Moffat won the VC.

Born in 1882, so (maths not being my specialist subject) 43 when the film was taken. Boyd-Rochfort two years older.

The gent on the left is definitely George Arthur Boyd-Rochfort VC, formerly of 1st Battalion Scots Guards.

In this IWM Collection photo LINK of a group of Guards VC recipients he is in the back row, second from the left.

How come Moffat doesn't seem to have the British War and Victory medals??

I thought it very poignant to see two children laying a wreath wearing, what I presume are their respective fathers medals.
