Please could someone tell me what regiment this stands for? It is listed on a short attestation of one of my relatives

I would hazard a guess at New Brunswick & Nova Scotia Regt.

Was your man a Canadian ?

No, he was from Stoke on Trent so that regiment seems unlikely!

The next page of his record shows North Staffordshire Regiment (the "NSR") part while a later page has "NEW BATTALION" stamped on it which I suspect explains the "NB" part. He was posted to the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion of the North Staffordshire Regiment and discharged in November 1914 "as not likely to become an efficient soldier" due to eyesight problems.
