clairec79 Posted 6 January , 2005 Share Posted 6 January , 2005 Does anyone know anything about this woman - I don't know her surname but there can't be many Evangelinas (can there?) She joined the VAD in late 1914 aged 16 - had been working in a munitions factory in Reading (or a few miles outside). In 1918 she went behind enemy lines after the German Spring offensive - an airlift was arranged to provide medical help to the men stranded there. She ended up a district nurse, as part of the midwives of St. Raymond Nonnatus in East London (but that was in the 50's so I doubt she was a nun during the war) Thanks Claire
