No 80 Fuze Manufacturer

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

l have just purchased a 1917 dated Type 80 Time Fuze and the Manufacture's Mark is BMC.

Am I correct in assuming that stands for the Birmingham Munitions Co ?

I will be very grateful for confirmation (or not).

Web opinion seems to be divided between it being the Buckeye Machine Company of Calgary or the British Munitions Company of Verdun, Quebec. Either way, it's Canadian.

Grateful thanks Peregrinvs.....I didn't imagine it was Canadian!  I have been scanning through the British Graces Guide and came up with so many options, I thought it would never be proven who made it.

Narrowing it down to two is much nearer than I could have possibly hoped for!

Thank you once again!

Hello All,

Here' a couple of photos of the Fuze.  One last question, is it purely a timed Fuze, or is it percussion as well?

I have managed to confuse myself by trying to research it on line!

Many thanks,
