Hi

I was given at christmas a small bark metal Lapel? badge with the title Manitoba Pioneer and shows a buffalo.

I had never even heard of them before this.

Does anyone know of them?

Could be a "sweetheart pin."

I would hazard a guess that this is not military, but more to do with "pioneer" settlers, i.e the first group of immigrants to the region. There are lots of references to pioneers, especially in the western provinces, that have nothing to do with pioneers of WWI/WWII fame.

Hi Pals

Sorry to be slow comming back.

DrB- Does not look like a sweethea pin to me, its a bit too annoymous being small and dark.

Bill - I am going for a new scanner tomorrow so all being well I will try to post it soon.

Broznitsky - Your guess is as good as mine except it came from a family member in a box of military badges. He says he has a large scroll that he thinks is related (hiding in his garage) so if he shows it to me I will let you know.
