MaureenE Posted 28 March , 2018 Share Posted 28 March , 2018 Thanks bushfighter for pointing out this article. An account in the following book may be of interest in relation to the Singapore Mutiny. Lauterbach of the China Sea : the Escapes and Adventures of a Seagoing Falstaff by Lowell Thomas, 1930 Archive.org. A China Sea Captain, during WW1 Julius Lauterbach was navigator on the German SMS Emden. He was later a prisoner in Singapore at Tangling prison camp page 95, and helped ferment dissatisfaction which led to the Singapore Mutiny, during which he escaped and fled, initially to Sumatra.
