Aspern Posted 27 March , 2018 Share Posted 27 March , 2018 " A Very Gallant Gentleman" was a WW1 homing pigeon who was instrumental in saving the lives of two aircraft crews in the North Sea but died from exhaustion. The bird's body was stuffed, placed in a glass case and named "A Very Gallant Gentlemen' by the fliers at Great Yarmouth. More lately he is on display at the RAF Museum in the Grahame White factory, where he is impssible to photograph because of his location. Prior to this he was on display in the main building. I am wondering if anyone has a photo of the pigeon taken when it was in the main building. I would like to use it in a book. I have conatcted the RAF Museum about using their photo but the cost is too high. Any help appreciated and a credit would be given in the book. Many thanks Ian
