Haig's GHQ

I have scoured the LLT site, and trawled through the forum archives and still cannot find the answer to this simple question.

After leaving St. Omer shortly before the Battle of Loos, where did Haig set up his GHQ?

Have I missed something very obvious?

Haig did not take over from Sir John French as C-in-C until after Loos, in December 1915. GHQ then moved to Montreuil-sur-Mer, although I'm not sure exactly when the move took place.

Cheers,

The move to Montreuil took place in March 1916. Given that the BEF had been steadily expanding its front southwards, Montreuil was a much more central position than St Omer.

Nice town, Montreuil, well worth a visit. Not really 'sur mer' these days but has a good equestrian statue of Sir Douglas in the main square, albeit riding the wrong sex horse.

Not much to add, except that the Haig's equine statue has lost its sword over the last few years. It was bent in 2002 and gone in mid 2004. There is a very similar statue on the approach to Edinbrugh Castle.
