Looking at the forecast and remembering the weather you had last year, the moral of the story might be "Don't book a holiday the same week as Tim"

i am based near St Quentin next week but will be venturing up to Pozieres.

I think the whole of the GWF must be over here shortly.  Unfortunately, I've been too busy to do any WW1 stuff but may be out on my bicycle over the weekend as I will be without transport then.  If you see a fat old Englishman hunched over a bike in the Guillemont area, please don't run me over.

If you're in the Mametz area - check the woodsw to see whether new ownership is causing access problems for visitors! Enjoy your trip!

Yes a lot this year. Plenty of walks and remembrance.

Here is a NZ Artillery button from near Mouquet Farm.

What is the metal object underneath the button?

Martin

'Starfish' from the bottom of an artillery shell?

[waiting in expectation of someone ticking me off for not using the correct name for it].

Another sad reminder of the war. From heights above Eaucourt L’Abbaye and Flers.

Sroll from bottom of cap badge.

Amazing that such 'surface' finds can still be made.

From The Elbow, OG1. Given to Dom at Pozieres. Was freezing. If you took your gloves off you couldn't move fingers after 20 secs. -2 but worse with wind chill. I look rather threatening.
