GrenPen Posted 3 March , 2018 Share Posted 3 March , 2018 I was hoping to look at some AIF records, but the NAA website does not show the image. Are others experiencing the same issue? Regards GP

MKC Posted 3 March , 2018 Share Posted 3 March , 2018 (edited) Yes, been like that for several hours. Been happening a lot lately. Just checked again, and same issue. File ID in top corner, but no images. Mike Edited 3 March , 2018 by MKC
GrenPen Posted 3 March , 2018 Author Share Posted 3 March , 2018 Yes, I see that too. Regardless of whether I try to view via a catalogue search, or by the "discovering ANZACs" route, the outcome is the same.

Waddell Posted 3 March , 2018 Share Posted 3 March , 2018 (edited) Maybe send them an e-mail on Monday. There is a freeze on some records noted on the main page including some defence records, although it is difficult to see how WW1 records would be related- http://www.naa.gov.au/information-management/managing-information-and-records/disposal/freezes/index.aspx Scott Edited 3 March , 2018 by Waddell
MKC Posted 3 March , 2018 Share Posted 3 March , 2018 Still the same problem this morning so I have emailed the webmaster again. Scott, as I understand it, a records freeze is a disposals freeze, ie NAA and other Govt departments cannot dispose of records, rather than limiting the public's ability to view records already cleared for public access, so I don't think the system is intentionally blocking our viewing of WW1 records. It is more likely a system glitch with the linking. Mike
