Chapin78 Posted 27 February , 2018 Share Posted 27 February , 2018 I'm seeking information on Hospital Ships leaving the Calais region to cross the Channel to England in mid August 1917. The British soldier in question was transferred out of No. 18 General Hospital in Camiers, France on August 14th 1917 to a hospital ship, but then the trail goes dead. Thank you! sotonmate Posted 27 February , 2018 Share Posted 27 February , 2018 May I suggest that you post the soldier's details as it might help the Sleuth Section here find more info. The Channel ports had a fair few ferries which had converted to Hospital Transports, as well as some Hospital Ships, so if you haven't got an entry after your No 18 GH which might ordinarily show a cross-channel transit then you might have difficulty in finding a name.
