Jemadar Lalbahadur Gurung

Looking for any information on this man.  I have found him in the Indian Army List Jan 1919 Vol 2 p971, with 3rd Battalion, Queen Victoria's Own Corps of Guides (Frontier Force) (Lumsden's).  I know he was still serving with 3rd Guides in late July 1919, and the list gives his first date of service as 18 Jan 06, with his rank date as 2nd Jan 18.

I know it's a longshot, but can anybody add any colour to this picture?  Given 3rd Guides were a wartime raising (Oct 17) with soldiers from 1st Bn, 2nd Bn and others, can anyone track his previous service? 3rd Bn had Sikhs, Dogras, Gurkha, Pathans and Punjabi soldiers - does his name give an indication as to which of these Gurung might have been?

Many thanks, Paul

Thanks Stephen -that's helpful. Does it rule out him being any of the other tribes? And does it mean there might be a Gurkha record section that might reveal more information?
