Jean60 Posted 19 February , 2018 Share Posted 19 February , 2018 Had to seek help and I've been told this photo is from a school cadet unit. Can anyone offer any info on this badge, 1CCP, and even possibly identify which school this cadet attended please?
FROGSMILE Posted 19 February , 2018 Share Posted 19 February , 2018 (edited) Cadet insignia is often quite short lived and obscure. For that reason I would suggest that you post this query in the more specialised British and Commonwealth Military Badge Forum: http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1 Edited 19 February , 2018 by FROGSMILE
Jrmh Posted 19 February , 2018 Share Posted 19 February , 2018 Although not Cadets, 1CCP - 1 Casualty Collection Post (Medical Corps) Rhodesian Army 1973? https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=85kyCgAAQBAJ&pg=PA66&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=2#v=onepage&q&f=false

Jean60 Posted 19 February , 2018 Author Share Posted 19 February , 2018 Many thanks for your replies, and I must admit I was advised to post on a specialised badge forum but thought I would try here first. My soldier was born in Gateshead, but spent some time in Australia before returning to the UK in 1915. He obtained a commission in the 1/6th Northumberland Fusiliers and was KIA in 1917. I can't believe anyone would abandon sunny Gateshead for Australia. Who was the man ? Craig
Jean60 Posted 20 February , 2018 Author Share Posted 20 February , 2018 My thoughts exactly, what was he thinking! The photo is from the family of Lt. Stanley Dawson Simm Tucker, his story is now on the NEWMP. I've never seen this type of badge anywhere before, and the family don't know where the photo was taken either.
