Recommended Posts

Would like information about his service. Served as a stoker on Vivid 23 July 1909. Leander 4 December 1909 - 2 November 1910., Devonshire etc. Probably impossible, but would love a photo.

Described as 5 feet 3 & one eighth, brown hair & eyes, dark complexion

Awarded British War Victory Medal & R.F.R.L.s. & G.C. Medal.

to save duplication of effort, where have you looked as you seem to have info that suggests you have his service records ?

 

best chance for a photo is local newspapers of the time

He also claimed, and was issued with, the 1914-15 Star. A Special Service stoker whose five years of Fleet service would have expired (in the normal course) just before the war.

Yes, I do have his service records & thanks for the newspaper tip.
